Notebook A5 . George Sand . 19th century

Notebook, size 14.8 X 21 cm – 30 ivoire paper pages. Bound in accordance with a traditional process. The sheets are sewn together by hand with a Singer machine with black thread.

The front and back take up wallpaper patterns from the House of George Sand, in Nohant (Berry, France). The front indeed takes up part of the panoramic "Plum Blossoms" placed in the bedroom of the writer's granddaughters. The back, meanwhile, features the "Medallions" wallpaper from George Sand's own bedroom (the so-called "blue medallions" bedroom). These models are dated 1889 and 1867 respectively.
